The Next Step?

After landing and the instructor has parked up the aircraft you will be brought back to the operations department and presented with your certificate. At this point you can discuss with the instructor or the staff what the next step would be.

In brief you will be told about the various stages of getting your licence and how to go on to a career in flying. There are many different routes depending on, both finances and the time available to you. Some take up flying just as a hobby and when they achieve their PPL (Private Pilots Licence) they are able to rent our aircraft and fly friends and family around the country. Also there are many activities at various different airfields such as fly-ins or even air rallies where one can participate in competitions and general banter with fellow aviators.

Others make it their career and go on to train for their CPL (Commercial Pilots Licence) which then allows them to be paid for the flying that they do. They can then go on either to gain their ATPL (Airline Transport Pilots Licence) or go into another area such as instructing. Whichever path you chose the staff will be more than willing to give you guidance on how to start the process.

Skytrace can look after your training up to PPL level after which you can go on to our sister company PTC Waterford where the training continues all the way up to frozen ATPL. The frozen ATPL is just the first stage on becoming a fully fledged airline captain and a very rewarding career in aviation.
